Finally done with this program uh. The only positive point about the last three weekends was meeting some of the coolest people in China, especially my Italian savior and twin, Giulia (who literally has "bald" in her surname).
P.S. I hate the pictures they took of me during this program, as I'm literally whitewashed in every one of them, so here are four pictures by my amazing cheap, and old camera that doesn't put random effects on people.
Charity forced me to go to Guangfulin with her on her birthday. The weather was horrible and I almost passed out.
We had to produce a video for the summer program, so we ended up shooting random videos for almost 5 hours.
I enrolled myself in a boring program that I did not check what is it about beforehand. However, the good thing about is that I'm spending more time in downtown.
An overdue visit. I really wanted to check this place since I came to Shanghai, and guess I had to wait for two Germans to take me there.
Second day was shorter, so I went through less pain.
Day one of shooting a promotional video for some organization (I guess?) in Xuhui district. I'm really struggling with the humidity hopefully I'll survive this summer.
Natalija is truly aging like a fine wine. While I was late to the party due to my fantastic time management, I still had a great time with my favorite Serbian ever, and can wish her nothing but more joy and muscles.
What happened in my life this month through 10 pictures
1-2: I went to watch I, Daniel Blake with Ari, Liza, Niamh, and Lennart. It was part of the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF). My review on Letterboxd: I, Danial Blake
3: We celebrated the birthday of our favorite half-Chinese student, Friederike. She turned 21, and I wish her nothing but more languages to learn.
4-5: Mariana’s goodbye gathering. She will return to Italy to finish her master’s degree. It’s such a loss for our movie night gang, and her absence will not be replaced with anyone, as we don’t know many cool Colombians in Shanghai.
6-8: Ari returned to Italy as well. Gerardo rented a car, and we took her to the airport and listened to the most random mix of songs.
9- I finally watched Backrooms with a great group of friends who seemed to enjoy the film more than me. My review on Letterboxd: Backrooms
10- Finally moved to a new place. Artur and Gerardo helped me through this annoying process, and I’m glad to have amazing friends who can offer me free labor because I went broke after ordering stuff for my apartment.
My friend Felix was playing for our university team in finals, so I had a chance to finally watch a full basketball match for the first time in my life.
Found a decent Hong Kong-style restaurant in our campus thanks to my Costa Rican and South Korean friends, Nico and Kihye.
Beyzai's "Bashu, the Little Stranger" was screened in Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), and I had a great time biking back home as there were no metro after 11 pm.
